This was my first serious attempt at a continuous line animal. I had seen Bridget Riley optical Op Art pictures and liked the effect. The horse is based on a Thomas Stubbs painting of a horse being savaged by a Lion ( I removed the terror). The Horse was later produced as a screenprint, and then in wire and steel strip.
